ANA FILIPA SANTOS THREE-TIME CHAMPION OF LONG DISTANCE TRIATHLON

Ana Filipa Santos won the competition of long distance triathlon this weekend in Vilamoura and became three-time national champion of the discipline. The event, called TRI Run 3.0 Vilamoura was held on Saturday 26th November, which was dedicated to athletes specialized in long distance and was also the last competition of the race calendar in 2017.

In the women's category, Ana Filipa Santos, triathlete of the Rio Maior Triathlon Club, who had already been two-time national champion in this discipline, entered the race with the aim of winning. She dominated the whole competition with an exemplary performance by being the best in all the three segments. She was first from the start of the race and finished with an advantage of 16 minutes over the second best, and won the Portuguese national championship for the third consecutive time.

In 2013 Ana Filipa Santos chose the Desmor Rio Maior Sports Centre and Desmor's triathlon technical framework with coach Sérgio Santos designed for high performance athletes. She has been an athlete of the Rio Maior Triathlon Club since 2015 and has been a coach at the Rio Maior Triathlon School since April 2017.

She has recently finished her bachelor’s degree in sports training, specialized in triathlon at the University of Sports of Rio Maior, and she is currently completing her master's degree in the same field in the same university.
