DIANA DUÃRES BEAT 3 PORTUGUESE NATIONAL RECORDS IN BUDAPEST!

The Portuguese swimmer Diana Durães was featured in the World Championships taking place in Budapest, Hungary, where she broke three national records. In the last three years, the athlete lived and trained in the Rio Maior High Performance Swimming Centre and studied at Rio Maior High School.

On 28 July, she reached the third absolute record of Portugal. In the 800m freestyle event, on the sixth day of competition, the swimmer finished the distance in 8.35.10 minutes, which gave her the 7th place in the 3rd series, and the 13th time among 38 registered swimmers.

Before that, she he had already beaten two records in the first days of the competition: in 200m freestyle, finishing it in 2.01.48 minutes and in the 400m freestyle with a time of 4.10.07 minutes, winning the second series of qualifiers.

Diana Durães is one of the swimmers who chose the Rio Maior High Performance Swimming Centre for her development as an athlete, where in the last two seasons she was trained by the French coach Aurélien Gabert. The swimmer is a native of Fafe, having represented the Futebol Clube do Porto before. She is currently athlete of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. She is a great value for the Portuguese national team for the upcoming years and she is expected to achieve further successes in her career.
