Vera Santos is one of the best Portuguese race walkers. Born in Rio Maior, she trains every day in his hometown Sports Complex.
Currently she represents the Sporting CP, along with her husband and coach João Vieira.
In 2006, in the European Championships won his 1st major classification, an 8th place in the 20 km race walk. In the Olympic Games in 2008 she was in 9th place. In the World Championships in Berlin got a brilliant 5th place. In 2010, in the European Championships, won a 6th place.
