NEW SEASON WITH SPORTING AND GUIMARÃES

The football teams of Sporting Clube de Portugal and Vitória Sport Clube played in Rio Maior on 26 July 2017. It was a pre-season game in which Vitória de Guimarães won 3 - 0. Estupiñan, Hurtado and Raphinha scored the goals.

The Stadium of Rio Maior hosted a game again between teams of 1º Liga, having registered an attendance of about 3000 people.

After Sporting's B team played at the Stadium in Rio Maior in the 13/14 season and the first team played a pre-season game against Nacional in August 2013, the Lions returned again to Rio Maior.

On 29 July, the club from Alvalade plays against Fiorentina for the Cinco Violinos Trophy and the Guimarães team plays for the Candido de Oliveira Super Cup against Benfica on 5 August.
