RIO MAIOR WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE

Under the guidance of the coach Sergio Santos, the Rio Maior Sports Complex provides all the conditions for high technical training conditions. This option, makes the difference from other sports centers.

Under the conditions of the "Project Rio Maior 2016," a protocol signed between the Brazilian Triathlon Confederation and the Desmor EEM, who manages the Rio Maior Spots Complex, actually some young triathletes from Brasil are in permanent training camp in Rio Maior. They are in the beginning of a preparation for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

They are Igor Amorelii, Marcus Fernandez, Rafael Fonseca, Paulo Maciel, Bruno Mateus, Matheus Diniz Oliveira and Stephano Pâmella Bender. Beyond this group, Carla Moreno, the most dedicated triathlete from Brazil, and his coach Sanderson Palma, also opted for Rio Maior to train.

Also four athletes from Russia, also train under the guidance of Sergio Santos. They are Vladimir Turbaevskiy, Artem Parienko, Denis Ivan Vassiliev and Vassiliev. From Serbia there is Ognjen Stojanovic, and from Ukrain triathlete and Ukraine, Yuliya Yelistratova. For a few weeks of January and February, this group also included two of the most quoted triathletes of Israel, Ran and Dan Alterman.

Swimming Pools

The Rio Maior Swimming Pool complex it's a modern, functional and energy efficient facility.

With two indoor swimming pools, with 25 and 50 meters, a indoor learning pool and a outdoor diving pool it's ready to support every aspect of swimming and it's the core of the Rio Maior High Performance Centre devoted to swimming. The 50 mt swimming pool has HD video Recording capabilities, with underwater images, to allow complete trainin analysis.

With thse conditions the Rio Maior Swimming Pool Complex is often chosen to be the stage for a large number of swimming events and it's the training home of the portuguese National Teams.

Lodging

The Rio Maior Sports Centre has 2 independent lodging areas with a total of 32 rooms in single, double, triple or quadruple configuration, thus meeeting the specific needs of teams and individual athletes.

In all the rooms you'll find telephone, Wireless Internet Acess, Cable TV, mini-bar, air conditioning and one or two bathrooms, depending on the chosen room configuration.

Gimnasyum

From exercise bikes to wheigts the Sports Centre Gymnasium holds all the equipment needed for the athletes proper training.

Equipped with air conditioning the Gymnasium also hold 3 power evalutation ergometers designed to mesure the athletes capabilities.

The Sports Centre has 2 other Gymnasiums, onde devoted to swimming, located inside the pool complex, and another devoted to track athletics, located on the Municipal Stadium.

Health Club

The Sports Centre Health Club area has all the requirements for athletes and coaches to enjoy Sauna, Turkish Bath and Jacuzzi. With modern infrastructures this zone of the Sports Centre allows also cold water imersion treatments ins 4 specially designed tubs.

Physiotherapy

The Rio Maior Sports Centre offers athletes services in Sports Medicine, Massage and Phisiotherapy. These professionals work at an area of the Sports Center equipped with the latest therapy and recovery equipment (laser, ultrasounds, magnetotherapy, shock wave therapy and short wave therapy).
