TCHOUKBOL DEBUTS IN RIO MAIOR

The Rio Maior Sports University will host on 21 and 22 June, 2015 a presentation of  tchoukball for the first time in Portugal.

Tchoukball is the fastest hand ball sport in the world today.   Tchoukball is a team sport of 7 players that unites all key sporting skills; athleticism, concentration, respect for oneself and the opposition and teamwork.

A relatively new sport, Tchoukball was developed by a Swiss biologist Herman Brandt in the 1970’s. It is a high speed, non aggressive, non contact sport making it great for all ages and abilities. It is a team sport, usually played indoors within a court. Two teams of 12 (9 on court, 3 substitutes) play against each other scoring points by bouncing a ball off a ‘frame’- similar to a trampoline measuring 1 square metre. Both teams can score points from either frame so players have to defend and attack at each end of the court.
